Lower Oder Valley National Park is a shared German-Polish nature reserve. Its comprises the western banks of the Oder river within the Ukcermark district in the German state of Brandenburg as well as the steep eastern banks in the Gryfino and Police counties of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship further north. This postcard with special stamps and postmark was sent by my best correspondent friend Erhard Molbitz from Postdam, Germany.

The Curonian Spit is a 98 km long, thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon fom the Baltic Sea coast. Its southern portion lies within Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia and its northern within southwestern Lithuania. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared by the two countries. This postcard was sent by my friend Gintare from Kaunas, Lithuania.

Postcard from Germany

The boat lift Magdeburg - Rothensee connects the Mitteland Canal with the river Elbe. It was constructed in 1939 with a lifting height of 18,4 meter and pool size of 85 meter x 12 meter. This 1988 East German maximum card was sent by my best correspondent friend Erhard Molbitz from Postdam, using great German wildlife stamps.
